It’s is not fair increase annual fee because of life expenses especially in toronto it’s a lot of pressure on techs

Maybe save some money and audit us less?

I think it's unfair considering that the college of nurses doesn't charge as much as CMRITO does to MRTs although the salary of MRTs is generally a much lower pay scale. Nurses also get more perks and do not have to document their CE.

I believe you should be decreasing your fees, not increasing. I believe we are one of the highest fee paying colleges out there… especially in proportion to our income.

I am really struggling financially. This increase does not make sense to me. Why do u not provide PLI for this price. Pls consider not raising this fee.

Absolutely not. We already pay enough in fees to practice. We are the second highest fee after doctors. Nurses, who have a lot more responsibility than us, pay less. I do not support this change and you can expect 470$ from me on my birthday (happy birthday to me right?) That is a 36.81% increase. With tax that comes to almost 730$. Which is absurd. I would love to see your financial reports showing the need for this increase. This is coming out of greed. Especially when I don’t work full time hours. Have you tried fundraising to make ends meet? Maby it’s time to thin out employees to make it work. Perhaps it’s time for a different organization to step in as our regulatory bodies. With sonography being added and more people contributing, our fees should technically be less. Like I said. We already pay a lot out of pocket. We get our PLI from CAMRT/OAMRS We get out continuing education from CAMRT/OAMRS CMRITO…….we get audited for CE hours……. Make it work with the 470$ because that’s all you’ll get from me.

This is a dramatic jump from the current cost of registration. Regardless of comparison to the other registered professions, we are a relatively small group and the support we get from the college is minimal— many professions get free con ed hours and alternative methods of completing their hours. Some foresight with smaller increases over a few years would have made more sense. Why such a dramatic and permanent jump when people are already fleeing the workforce? A 50$ increase 5 years ago would have solved your financial stability problem without feeling like we are being gouged just to keep working.

Perhaps reviewing the budget to find cutting overhead costs would be more appropriate. Leasing property on University is very expensive and would provide a monthly cost savings if the offices moved to a cheaper location.

Should not raise fees!

I think this proposal of increasing the yearly registration fee is extremely unfair for the registrants. As part of the health care providers working through the pandemic, the college did not fight for us to receive any pandemic pay or recognition. We pay a yearly fee with no benefit for the working public, we’ve received little to no pay wage raises throughout out these years and now with the increase it’s extremely unfair.

I think that the increase from $470 to $ 643 is not in keeping with inflation rates and expecting people to pay over 30% more each year is unrealistic.

I am against this proposed change. In a world where the price of living has increased so much and people are barely able to afford food and a roof over there head, it is not okay to increase the dues in which we pay just to be able to work in healthcare. If I am barely surviving right now, this increase could put my family over the edge. If you can explain to us exactly what this money would go to that could help, because honestly I have no idea what these dues do for me and my career. Please don’t do this

Increasing the fees seems completely unnecessary. We pay yearly as well as paying for education to fill our education hours and also for liability insurance if you are not a member of your provincial association. The fees are already more expensive then ONA and an increase seems completely unnecessary especially with the increase of members now that ultrasound techs are also members. I am completely against this increase as I am sure most other members will be as well.

I am very concerned about the proposed large increase to the annual registration fee. Our wages have not kept up with inflation and at our hospital we are working on a contract that expired 2 years ago. Also with the rising cost of living, I feel that the proposed 27% increase in fees will cause many members (including myself and my colleagues) financial hardship. Please rethink this amount and consider lower increases over multiple years.

The proposed annual registration fee raise is too high for us members. Please turn down this unreasonable proposal and keep fees lowe for CMRITO members!

We already pay a much higher fee than other medical professionals that I know. A higher fee is just ridiculous!
Posted Tue, 24 Sep 2024 00:30:00 GMT by CMRITO registrant
This provides no benefit to us at all. We are always compared to and aligned with Nursing, they have some of the lowest college fees, but they enjoy more perks such as pay, bonuses, public recognition. It needs to be demonstrated that the public is requiring CMRITO's services more or else I would entertain other ways to achieve long-term financial stability.

The fee that we already paid annually was too much to begin with. Upping the fee $173 with no extra benefits makes no sense. When you include taxes we will be required to pay OVER $725! Nurses, who make more than the techs you represent have only an annual membership fee of $340 which is far below what we are currently paying. It’s hard to understand why we’d be required to pay $303 more per year than nurses. What you are proposing feels like theft. We are required to pay it in order to work and we have no other option. If the other regulated health professionals had seen annual fees similar to CMRITO it wouldn’t feel as bad but to see our fee so much higher than other health professional that we work with is alarming. It makes techs question if our money is being mishandled and wonder why the CMRITO is having such a hard time balancing their budget.

I think that our fee is already enough. We already pay more than nurses do annually and I cannot justify increasing the amount so much! As someone who pays annually for CMRITO AND only works part time, this is very disappointing that the cost may increase to that ridiculous amount. With the 25 hours of continuing education that we already have to do on our own time, the annual fee that is already high and the CAMRT annual fee that some members also choose to pay, I hope the fee stays the same.

I don’t agree the skyrocketing increase of the annual fee. They should be paid by the government.
