This fee increase is too much given increased inflation especially for part timers who are not working full time hours !

To a profession that was deemed “not front line” during the pandemic, this seems a little steep

Considering the high cost of living at this time I feel this would be unfair to raise the fee to members. We do pay a high fee compare to other regulated professionals. Perhaps consider finding other ways to cut operation cost as an alternative (i.e. staff work from home, combine roles, virtual meetings).

I think the proposed increase to CMRITO annual fees is outrageous. The fees are already too high for your members and extremely unaffordable, especially considering our wages have not increased with inflation. When thousands of members (Sonographers) joined CMRITO, the fees should have gone down. CMRITO does not have any particular benefits to its members, and our employers will not cover the annual cost for us. As a college, it is your job to support the patients and the public. As such, I feel the annual registration fees should NOT be increasing for its members. Just like the CNO and other regulatory colleges, fees should go down as more members join, not up.

Ridiculous! Such a high jump in fees but during the time that we need the college to support the members, you were not there. It’s not I’m not in favour of increase but such a high increase is ridiculous!

I do not approve of the increase in the registration fee. It adds an unnecessary financial burden, and I believe it should be reconsidered.

The change in fee is too much considering financial hardship to members. Our pay rates has not kept up with inflation. This change is not acceptable

I am not in support of the CMRITO fee increase. Why is CMRITO leasing an office for over $400 000 per year? Why did you choose to rent an extravagant office downtown Toronto? There are less expensive offices in virtually any other part of the city. How much work done in this office could be done from home? What is the percentage of the work week spent in the office? The percentage of desks that are occupied on a full-time basis? What measures have you taken to cut costs?

An increase is $183 is astronomical. In no way does this increase make any sense whatsoever. In my opinion, we already pay too much to begin with. As a Sonographer I have not seen where my money goes. I literally just pay it because I have no other choice and log my continuing education because I have to. As Sonographers we never get recognition, you do not offer us any relevant additional courses to take, we are not offered any perks by being a member. I just don’t know what my money is funding and why it has to increase so drastically.

This increase is being imposed with no value add implications, or GPI references. How will this increase be used? What are the financial goals of the CMRITO, and how do they provide value add service for its members? Increased consultation is required prior to implementing a 37% increase.

A 37% increase to an already expensive mandatory fee we need to pay to practice in Ontario is just way too much!

I don’t agree with the proposed changes to the annual fee for registrants. This is a very high fee for individuals to pay in a difficult economy. Furthermore, just recently the CMRITO regulated ultrasound under their umbrella which would have increased funds and registrants.

This is unacceptable. Increasing fees while we're in the middle of a staffing crisis and most hospitals and clinics can find people to work. This isn't going to help encourage people to become Technologists

We cannot afford more in fees with this economy.
Posted Tue, 24 Sep 2024 01:30:00 GMT by CMRITO registrant
I don’t think it’s fair to increase the annual fees by such a substantial amount. It is not the current members’ fault that CMRITO did not raise its fees over the last several years, nor should it come from our pockets to cover this. As a sonographer, we recently became members of CMRITO and the influx of money from that likely was helpful in sustaining costs of running CMRITO. To add to that, why are we now going to be punished financially for a college decision we were not even part of over the last several years? A yearly increase isn’t an unusual ask, but a 37% increase is wildly inappropriate to ask of all of your members. In this economy, we are all struggling to be able to afford groceries, gas, housing. To now increase our fees by 37% is unfair and unsustainable. Please consider that we need to be able to afford living, and this is not a fair ask from you.

No. What does the CMRITO even do for its member other allow them to work in Ontario? We already are on the low end of the pay scale in Canada, why should we pay more to work? This makes it more enticing to leave the profession or go elsewhere to work. Ontario is already short and this will just make it worst. There is no reason for the members to suffer for CMRITO to meet its “financial goals”. The goals outline are not necessary and DO NOT benefit anyone but those working at CMRITO and for them to feel good about themselves for “doing something for the members”. What a joke. This is not necessary.

This is a significant increase in the registration fee. I would like to know what this kind of increase in fee is going towards.

150 +tax is a huge increase in our fees. I am definitely not seeing the value of our college fees for these past years. Please remember MRTs didn't get compensate for any pandemic pay!!!! many of us are waiting for salary to be up to standard with inflation. our salary has been "frozen". I object this increase in registration fee

Fee is unaffordable due to increased cost of living
Posted Tue, 24 Sep 2024 01:30:00 GMT by CMRITO registrant
Hello, I don't believe this is a fair increase in price for the members of the CMRITO. Due to the rising prices of groceries and cost of living, the proposed annual fee would only create a burden to the families and workers of this profession. The original fee is as high as can be, adjusting to this fee is not appropriate in my opinion and would just create further financial stress to the medial radiation technologists of Ontario.
