No - the proposed change is too high.

The annual fee shouldn't be increased..it adds more economical stress on us..leaving aside the work stress

I disagree with the fee increase at a time when we are struggling to make ends meet. We have to make our bottomline with what we get as a salary so it is incumbent upon the CMRITO to make the necessary adjustments without impacting members to meet their goal. We are already paying too much on an annual basis.

Given the current state of the economy and the cost of living, this proposed increase in fees is very poorly timed and upsetting. Hospitals are unable to fill positions and technologists are considering leaving the profession due to the over all situation in health care. I do not agree with such a large increase!

While a slight increase might be understandable, an increase of this amount is completely outrageous. How do we have increasing costs with such a large increase in numbers joining the college? Shouldn’t this bring in enough additional income to create financial stability even if you need to hire more staff? Why do MRTs pay more in professional dues than any other health care professional? We need to meet somewhere in the middle

I DO NOT support this at all. As a practicing sonographer , we were forced to belong to the CMRITO while we already had the support from Sonography Canada to provide CMEs and liability insurance. The costs are ALREADY too high and you provide no service to sonographers nor do we harm the public the way a traditional MRT can. NO! To the fee increase.

Majority of sonographers work on hourly wages with no benefits like paid sick days. As is our income is inconsistent and most of us are working 6 sometimes 7 days a week to make ends meet. Survival in this economy is a struggle and to raise the registration fee is not justified. Instead of asking the members to pay more perhaps CMRITO needs to consider some cut backs like all of us are doing these days.

I don’t agree with the increase of registration fee. Our salary increase is significantly slower than inflation rate which means we are making less and less every year. Plus, we are experiencing a huge shortage in MRT in our practice. Increasing fee would push more MRTs to US for higher pay or other fields which make the whole situation worse. If you want to increase fee, pick a better time - when there are enough MRT in the field and we are making sufficient amount of money for our job.

Strongly disagree with such a hike in the fee. With living expenses and mortgage rate going through the roof we are already struggling and this increase just adds to our pain. Our salary is just enough to survive - but the registration fee significantly higher than most other professions e.g. engineers or architects. What benefits are we receiving for the registration? Visibly nothing - highly disappointed and sad to learn about this proposed increase.

173$ PER registrant is a 27% increase. To get this amount of money from all your registrants, I believe is greed. I think everyone would like to know what these “financial goals in 2028” include and how it impacts us.

I don't support this proposed by-law change. This increase in fees is way too high. Where is the financial accountability of this college. I want to see more detailed financial audit reports. What measures have been put in place to reduce expenses? Getting more money from your members shouldn't be the solution to poor financial planning.

While I can see an increase maybe good for the organization the amount that it will increase is a large percentage. Our member numbers are large and I am shocked that it would increase this much. I don’t agree with this increase amount. It’s substantial while people are struggling everywhere financially.

It would be interesting to view the increase in revenue to the CMRITO when Sonographers were mandated to join. I would assume Tbilisi was a huge benefit to the association and greatly impacted the financials. Transparency is key and diligence providing these numbers to those who support the income of CMRITO is necessary to prove the reasoning behind this. Unfortunate that we are required to pay a 37% increase to protect the public from harm when our very own association is not looking out for those who provide the care and the incomes of those who work for CMRITO. Seeing that we are not essential and are not allowed to strike, perhaps it would be at the very minimum, an act of kindness to allowed deferred payment for those struggling like most are currently financially. Income and wages of those who work for CMRITO should also be sent out to the members. Not a very nice birthday present!

What exactly are the CMRITO’s financial goals? If these so called goals are not achieved by 2028, what is the worst that could happen? What difference will it really make? Members need to feel supported - not taken advantage of especially when we are all over worked with staff shortages and zero raises in the private sector (IHF’s). Transparency would be appreciated for the financial goals. Wish I could meet my financial goals but more money continues to be taken from my bank account with the rising cost of EVERYTHING

Not happy with the changes. Fees should not be going up, pay enough as is. Some people pay mult. for licenses or affiliations already ie. ARDMS, Sonography Canada, OAMRS etc. Would like to see it stay at what it is currently at $470

Absolutely absurd to increased the fee by 37% when you didn’t support us when we didn’t receive any compensation during covid and when the government froze our wag. Many techs are already looking for jobs overseas due to financial restraints here. Please don’t add to our burden in these already stressful times.

I wouldn’t mind a slight increase but this increase is ridiculous! It is way too big of a jump. No one seems to support us in our profession. Just a month ago OAMRS called us “Technicians”. CMRITO barely stood up for us when it was time to get pandemic pay. We are understaffed and under appreciated and to show us support you make this huge increase that we need to pay just in order to work! If your birthday is beginning of January like mine is you have to pay over $1000 just to do your profession with liability and dues. It is not our fault that you haven’t made any increases since 2011. I really think this needs to be readdressed. I have been an X-ray Tech for over 28 years. This jump is too big in my opinion and a lot of people are unhappy. It will just bring morale down even more than it already is.

We should keep it the same. Nurses don’t have to pay as much for keeping their license so we shouldn’t need to increase the price of our license more. We should have one payment each year and maybe the rest can be through fundraising or cutting frivolous costs (sending CMRITO pins to techs or pens).

As a parent of a MRT, who can only find work on a part time basis, an increase in fees to this magnitude is a negative blow to her financial independence. Wages have not increased to match inflation. She has been told it takes upto 10 years to become a full time employee. Maybe the fee should be prorated based on a person's part time employ. Why is it you look for more money from the hard working people. No info has been shared as to how the executive will be making cuts to save funds. You need to reduce expenses prior to asking for more membership fees. The cost of PLI is also rising as well as continuing education which the MRT pay on their own. Your inability to manage funds should not be the problem of the membership, look at your spending first. I do not agree with this proposal at all.

I do not agree with the increase in our yearly registration fee. Although we may be lower than other medical professions you also have to take into account our Sonography Canada fee and professional liability insurance, which ends up being close to $290 a year. The proposed increase would thus make our yearly due over $1000. That is too much.
