The proposed increase is way too high. In a climate where cost is rising for every aspect of life, I understand a small increase would be justifiable.

I do not agree with the proposed fee increase. CMRITO is only a registration body. We are not provided any benefits from CMRITO from our fees paid. These fees must be paid so that we are eligible to work and affect our livelihood if we do not pay them. However CMRITO provides not CMEs, educational opportunities, did not go to bat for all of us affected by Bill 124, nor provided much assistance during Covid 19 aside from a 1 time discount of 90$. Ultrasound technologists were new to CMRITO and increased the total amount of fees CMRITO was able to collect as of 2018. When registering and doing our QA profile, everything is done and submitted by the registrant for CMRITO's review. It feels like a cash grab to increase our fees without providing anything more for us.

Thank you for taking comments and concerns regarding the proposed increase in registration fees. Given the state of burnout in sonographers post pandemic this seems like a concerning move. It doesn’t feel like it is helping the situation but my concern is that it will further exacerbate the situation as it will make sonographers feel even less heard and seen. If there are those on the fence about how to proceed regarding their profession and then there is a fee increase, I fear that sonographers will decide to leave the profession. Not necessarily because the amount of money but because they feel unseen in the stressful situation they find themselves in and decide to move to a profession where they feel supported and seen. Adding a financial burden on a group of people already burnt out feels like a poor decision.

I do not support the idea of an annual increase of CMRITO registration. It is already expensive as it is, especially for students or people just starting out!

A huge jump in cost, with no associated improvements. CMRITO does not provide PLI, CME, and historically has not supported the profession when needed (ie during pandemic other professions were provided pandemic pay, and cmrito did not push for us). All of this we must pay for separately. Charging so much simply for registration is simply ridiculous. Find other ways to “reach financial stability”. Leave our fees out of it.

A 36% increase in absolutely ridiculous when most of us only get a 1$ raise per hour every year. Not to mention as sonographers we have to pay for sonography Canada as well. How does this raise even make sense??? how come the fund for CMRITO has to come from the registrant who lives on paycheque to paycheque while CMRITO didn't really give us any real benefits??????

I feel this fee increase is not reasonable. The amount of the increase is a very significant jump and I feel we are already paying a lot compared to what CMRITO is actually doing for its members.

This is way too high. I do not support this increase. Especially when as Sonographers we also have annual sonography Canada fees. This is not afforadable!

The increase is too high to imagine. Can CMRITO post the budget to public, and how they spend members’ registration fees?

I think you need to "realign" your financial goals for CMRITO. I'm sure everyone wants to work in downtown core Toronto with a nice office. Sometimes we don't get to have what we want. Increasing annual fees by 30+% for thousands of your member seems ridiculous. How much extra money to you need to meet your financial goals? For a less than 50 employee organization, you are spending frivolously. The normal annual fee is already high! It's even high than the nursing college. How much money do you think we make? This is a government organization right? And we need this license to work. Why does it cost an arm and a leg? 500$ is already not a small amount!

the increase is ridiculous, it’s a 30% increase in an already expensive annual fee for a governing body that i have a hard time understanding what they really do for me as a sonographer. on top of our sonography canada annual fee, it’s become increasingly difficult to cough up that kind of money in todays economy. this has become a stressor for myself and my fellow sonographers.

At this time MRT's and DMS's are in high demand with staff shortages in many areas. I feel this is a very large dues increase all at once. I could see a small increase ($50) this year and following years but not a 37% increase at one time. I have been a dedicated MRT for 36 years and I am now of retirement age. I don't want to leave my chosen career but this excessive increase could make my decision very easy. I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this way.

This increase is excessive and will cause member hardship in some circumstances. Please align your financial goals to take in to account the needs of your members. I think this proposed change is outrageous. We do not make enough money to afford this increase in fees

I do not believe cmrito should increase the annual registration. The economy already is making financials tough on health care workers. The cmrito does nothing to protect health care workers, it is solely focused on the public. I understand the comparison to other health professions and their registration fees. However, other professions like nursing have a union, get annual increase in salaries etc. As sonographers we are at the mercy of the employer to pay us whatever they want with no incentive of a standard wage increase, no benefits and no pension. Sonographers are a vital component in the health care system, this will continue to lose current sonographers and switch careers. It is ergonomically a challenging job on your body and there is no health care support, i am extremely unhappy with the current price of cmrito. The public can be extremely rude to us and theres no protection for us.

This proposal is outrageous. CMRITO already has one of the highest registration fees of all the healthcare colleges. This would not benefit employees in any way and would cause students to reconsider their career or location from Ontario to another province

Absolutely ridiculous price increase, considering most of us pay into the OAMRS and possibly other organizations such as Sonography Canada annually as well. You are going to make us go broke paying this. If you expect us to accept this change perhaps a wage increase is needed for all techs to match the economy.

This fee increase is not only absolutely ridiculous to impose on an already financially and mentally stressed group of health care workers, but is also financially irresponsible and unjustified. How about you first: - put a pause on insane raises to the higher up employees - move from your ridiculously expensive downtown Toronto location to one that is more financially responsible - provide justification and a breakdown of exactly where the additional $2 million dollar revenue increase you are proposing would be allocated

As a CMRITO member, I will oppose any increase in the annual registration fees. As a technologist, this is not the single fee we are paying. We have to pay multiple other organizations to maintain our license annually i.e., Liability insurance, American registry, Sonography Canada, and for annual CME webinars/ classes or other learning stuff. It is overwhelming and very difficult to manage all expenses for us in the current inflation and financial crisis days. please consider other ways to secure financial stability. thanks in advance.

I fear the current proposed changes to the CMRITO registration fee are a considerable increase and with that increase that I will have to risk going into debt to pay it while balancing my bills, mortgage and cost of living. Raising it by just a lower amount will considerably lower the prospect of having to choose between registration fee and cost of living. It will also alleviate stress from this decision and will allow for me to better focus at providing the best patient care that I can.

I understand the expense to conduct business or even just live as a citizen is extremely expensive. I am not in favour of this large of an increase in fees. CMRITO has already made me not look forward to my birthday every year. There is no going out for dinner on my birthday. No birthday surprise as my pay check has to go to you. Maybe we can look at CMRITO finding new registrations to pay the current fee. Like Cardiology technologist. A small increase sure I understand, but this is way to much to expect.
