Proposed changes to By-law No. 60 regarding annual registration fee

So many fee increases have happened for various things yet our salaries have not increased to help us sustain our cost of living. This is a substantial increase for those nearing retirement and for those who just started the profession. While few increase is imminent how about staggering the increases? Also learned there is a surplus in revenue for college so why do we need to make it difficult for members?

Fully supportive of the proposed change to increase registration fees. Activities such as financial management, strategic planning, public and health profession awareness, and the regulation of the profession require an appropriate level of funding.

There aren't any real concrete justification on why the increase in annual fee is warranted. There aren't any proof that our fee is being put into effective use for members. The fee does not even include insurance for the members. Also other governing bodies (ie. Nurses) have annual fees that are significantly lower than what we have to pay as part of CMRITO. Additionally, CMRITO has just recruited Ultrasound, so how does this warrant higher fees? The College can say that it is to "secure long-term financial stability" but how does that benefit the member whose pocket it comes out of? How about the member's financial stability? In a recession, I don't care whether CMRITO has ONLY increased fees twice. Can this "excuse" be applied to taxes?

Breakdown of where our money is going?-- suggestions to lower costs not work in a downtown Toronto Office. We are not comparable to the other professions that we are lumped in with in the chart.

40% increase in fee a lot. We shouldn't even pay more than nurses, medical lab technologists or dental hygienists of Ontario. Why we are already paying this much? CMRITO needs government financial help to balance their budget to protect public.

I oppose this fee increase.

The CMRITO fees have always been high, but a 37% increase is astronomical in these difficult times. This field is already struggling to retain members and staff shortages are rampant. This increase in fee is part of the problem. We deserve to be supported. This outrageous increase in charged proves that CMRITO does NOT have it's member's best interests in mind. We do not make enough as a living to be charged an astronomical 37% increase in fees. The field is already struggling to retain staff and the CMRITO is proving that they do not have their member's best interests in mind. I will not be able to afford this increase in this struggling economy. The CMRITO will lose members as well as dampen their reputation amongst MRTs across the province.

The cost of the fee is too high with inflation..

It was shocking and frustrating to receive the news of such a dramatic, immediate increase. In comparison to the $340 that nurses (who make more money than we do) and lab techs, who are on par with our salary, it is insulting to charge us almost double. The comparison list of Regulated Health Professionals is misleading without referencing the salaries of the other professions. Our salary increase doesn't even cover inflation, let alone the proposed rate increase. Please find an alternate solution, or implore the Ontario hospitals to pay our fee as is done in several other provinces

I disagree with the new fees because this is not justified, we should not be paying to cover your expenses when you just increased your salaries.

I disagree with this change. I am confused as to where the funds are being allocated. Why are members required to pay more fees, when the CMRITO is not used to protect the technologists. Other healthcare professionals within their colleges do not pay this high of fees, I.e. nurses, who have more liability over patients due to their nature of their job.

This is outrageous. There is already a shortage of x- ray and bmd technologists. Raising fees so much may result in even more technologists stopping to work . What does CMRITO do for us. OAMRS does quite a bit more by providing free webinars and representing us at Queenspark.

CMRITO has generated over $5.6 million in revenue from dues, with a surplus of $400k. This 40% increase will lead to CMRITO having a $2.2 million surplus in 2025. We shouldn’t have to increase our fees just because other professions have higher fees as well. So why is it necessary to increase our fees when CMRITO will already be in surplus?

We are directly affected by inflation as well Have no substantial increases in pay to help cover the costs due to inflation and covid Very daring of this organization to raise the demands of fees .. there is no liability insurance provided in my fees no courses , fees are unreasonably high and no benefits I would not pay if I didn’t have to. Everyone should boycott and not pay. There is something needed to be done about this injustice to us as professionals in our field We are needed to run the diagnostic imaging and basically blackmailed by our organization that is supposed to be on our side.

I feel this is too much. Most professionals in the chart provided are in higher income category and/or business owners. The cost is not justified. We acquired more registrants with ultrasound. This would be a real negative to joining our profession.

The fee increase is way too high. As a former MRT I know my colleagues will find this hard. Instead do smaller increases or find a better way.

Oppose. That is over $700. Small increases would be more tolerable. We are all struggling to make ends meet

This is totally unacceptable I don’t know why we paying 200% more Even we ultrasound people not getting any help for regulation every clinic timing of procedure

If you all can't manage your finances why should we have to bear the brunt of that?
