This increase is unacceptable. The cost of living has increased by a tremendous amount and to increase this as well on top is outrageous. We are hard working technicians that are working to sustain a household, with increases like this it puts a tremendous amount of strain. I am fully against this increase and hope you do not move forward with this.

I am strongly against this increase in fee. This increase in licensing fee will be extremely detrimental to our practice going forward speaking from a Radiation Therapist working in Ontario. We are already facing extreme staff shortages due to the disparity in pay costs, all while having some of the highest licensing fees in the country. My peers working in BC, Alberta, Nova Scotia making $15-20 more per hour and their registration fees are half the cost that it is to work in Ontario. To be licensed in BC it costs $285, to be licensed in the East coast it is $215. This is leading to many Ontario graduates leaving the province as incentives outside of Ontario are more appealing with the rising costs of living in Ontario. We feel undervalued and if the trend of increasing costs persists we will exacerbate the staffing crisis. The shortage is already predicted to double as per expectations laid out from the community of practice group working in Ontario. I personally would love to see the breakdown of where my money is going- I see no benefit to myself to be paying more. As a matter of fact i believe our fees should be decreased with the increasing ongoing inflating rates in Ontario in comparison to other provinces.

I feel it’s a lot in one year to increase by that much.

Cut back on staff and the building that you are in. There is no reason to up the fee. We don’t need a pretty building. The collage just insures registration which it really doesn’t do. We had a tech who we found out later was not registered but had been working. You police us that’s it.

To whom may concern, I hope this message finds you well. As a dedicated participant in [the program/event], I truly appreciate the value it brings to myself and others in the community. However, I wanted to express my concern regarding the proposed increase in registration fees. As a single parent, the rising costs present a significant financial challenge for me. I am sure many others in similar situations might also struggle to keep up with the higher rates. I kindly ask that you consider maintaining the current fee structure or exploring alternative ways to manage costs without passing the burden onto participants. I believe keeping this 470 $ to all, regardless of financial circumstances, will only enhance its positive impact. Thank you for your understanding and consideration.

This is an astronomical increase. We should be more on par with the nurses fees if anyone. I strongly disagree with this increase and feel most members will feel the same.

The increase fee is unacceptable. Even from the beginning of CMRITO membership, getting money from our pocket of around 500 $ for annual registration was not reasonable. I am for sure not willing to pay more.

We have had less than 1% increases annually for years now but you want to increase fees by almost 40%?
Posted Tue, 24 Sep 2024 02:30:00 GMT by CMRITO registrant
I feel that the annual registration fee should NOT be increased. For a college that didn't advocate for pandemic pay or wage increases, increasing the annual fee would be outrageous.

I think it's way too much ,our salaries are not increasing and it's tough to manage with all other expenses, it's already a high fees which we pay Thank you

A 36% increase is a little too much if you ask me. We are already having a hard time with retention, seems like another reason to get out if health-care

As a Sonographer, the amount we already pay to a licensing body is ridiculous. CMRITO has not provided any benefit to my practice and does nothing to protect me as a working member. That is a 37% increase in cost for a membership that came into effect before I even began working.

Increasing fees just adds to the pressure majority of your registrants are already feeling with cost of living rising. Families are already struggling with housing, and getting food on the table. Fees rising almost $200 a year with tax is uncalled for. CMRITO will also see a drop of technologists who are casual, part time or close to retirement who will not want to pay this increase in fees. With an industry that is already short staffed, I don't think this is the right time to increase fees.

An almost 40% increase is ridiculous considering inflation and only a minimum pay increase. How are our professional fees so much higher than others??!!

I oppose this increase in annual CMRITO fee

Hi there, I am a member of CMRITO and wanted to share my concerns for the increased in registration fees. I find it very unfair , in an economy where people have a hard time paying their rent and mortgages to increase to such amount. Our jobs as technologist does not have a good raise to begin with every year because it is OHIP covered and therefore everyone in the field is struggling and many people like myself are even considering changing careers due to low pay and increase registration fees. You also have to please consider we have to pay for sonography canada as well as paying for insurance coverage every year. Please be more considerate of the situations technologists are in right now. We cannot afford to pay more . We are overworked, tired and underpaid. Please do not raise the fees.

This increase in fees is outrageous. I understand a bit of an increase but an increase of $170 a year is way too much. Especially when you try to talk about the one time $90 credit during Covid as causing financial instability. I would like to know what the top employees working at the CMRITO are making and where this money is spent.

Please don’t increase it, I’m struggling to pay my mortgage and my bills. In the states they pay around $70 a year. Thank you.

Increasing our already sky high registration fee by $173 is not something I want. I already struggle to pay the fee in this economy, and by the looks of it, we pay the most out of all of the allied health professionals. Why is that? We get paid less than other professionals yet our fees are more than double. I will be really unhappy and unsupportive if this increase in fees occurs.
