A 36% increase is ridiculous!!!! Who can even afford that in our current economy, people can barely afford groceries and a house. And I bet the people working for CMRITO are making twice as much as the registrants actively working in health care

Our fees are high at the moment, I cannot imagine a 37% increase when times are tight. We are not getting any wage increase either. I am afraid that in times when technologists are a rare commodity, a lot will be looking to retirement or new careers. This is robbery.

We already pay an insane amount for CMRITO, sonography Canada, AND to find CPD’s every year. This is disgraceful.

Its even ridiculous to think that salary payscale is not getting any increase rather we have to maintain this license with such inflation. CMRITO doesn't offer much in terms of free Cmes and now this . Disappointed!

1. It is not a fair comparison of professions that are graduate level degrees, vs undergrad degrees. 2. Other professions on this list make substantially more than MRT’s, not comparing apples to apples. 3. Cost cuts must be made with overhead costs and be shared with its members before an increase occurs ie rent, office relocation, salaries of executives, decrease in # of employees on the books etc 4. As a 22 year member, who now is in leadership and not required to stay a member (although I would like to), I will not be paying this increase and I think many will also not maintain their registration, if not absolutely necessary.

I appreciate the stance of the college and the fiscal need to raise registrant fees. However, taking into account current economic situation along with simultaneous increases in transit and fuel costs, parking fees, union dues, health benefits, etc…. Would it not be more reasonable to phase in fee increases? 37% as a one time increase is a large pill to swallow. Nowhere else would we accept an increase of that magnitude. Strongly urge you to introduce this fee increase in smaller increments, say 10% annually over the next 3 years. Thank you for considering.

Hello as a member of the CMRITO it is outrageous to raise our fees by 36.5%, inflation is not this high and our wages have to reflected this kind of increase.

In my opinion the increase fee is not acceptable and affordable. It is too much high. I am not happy to pay more

You've got to be kidding me! Please provide all members with a financial statement showing proof of said deficiencies justifying such an increase by sharing via email. Did Sonographers being mandated to join not sweeten the pot enough? I can guarantee that my hourly wage has not increased 37% since 2011. Also, are you willing to post publicly the CMRITO staff wages and increases since 2011? Imaging technologists wages are clearly posted on every hospital websites career openings page. And the rent you pay to house the College in downtown Toronto which is a totally unnecessary location and a waste of our money. I will happily return your one time covid $50. This increase is ridiculous and your committees should be ashamed of themselves. The Diagnostic Imaging profession and all technologists are currently so short staffed we are dying of stress and injuries. Is that not recognized at all? I am ashamed for all involved in this "proposal". Retirement can't come soon enough for this member.

Our salaries did not increase substantially over the last 10 years. With the cost-of-living being so expensive at the moment. The Substantial increase in food, coffee and the volatile fluctuation ofvgas, The $173 increase expected annually is a bit outrageous. I’m glad I’m retiring in two years. If this is the proposed fees, I don’t plan to return back to work as casual support in our field of decreasing numbers…it will be unfeasible for me. Perhaps a less expensive location for the CAMRITO headquarters might be a way to Cost cut and not affect those who are struggling financially in this field. Not to mention, we have fewer and fewer people in the field. I wonder why people are no longer Interested in supporting our imaging practice. I’m just curious…

What has my CMRITO membership done for me throughout my career…nothing. When you pay, you need to see the value and even with the current rates, this is not evident. I think the public should demand a third party review of the oversight and operations of the organization.

It is absolutely unacceptable. With the current landscape of inflation and living costs, you want to increase by over $100. This is laughable. Balance the books by properly managing the money you have not by increasing the amount that we have to pay to be allowed to work. I have never felt like the CMRITO has done anything to strengthen the MRT profession and yet you seem to think you deserve a raise because you have miss managed the money and run short on finances. Absolutly unacceptable

This proposed fee changes are appalling. Everything is already expensive as it is. Compare our fees to other associations and our counter parts in the USA, it's relatively very low. Times are hard, the college should be thinking of reducing the fee not increasing it by 40%. This will definitely drive Techs out of province especially new grads.

This is the worst idea proposed and it is ridiculous that this college does nothing to support MRTs yet is quick to want to collect extra money from us. We went through years of a pandemic and did not get compensated for our work at all. We were (and still are) over-worked and under-appreciated which forced many of us out of the profession. We were insulted and told we aren’t considered front line workers and our college that we pay all these fees to did nothing to support us or fight for us. When everyone else got pandemic pay and we didn’t, what did the CMRITO do for us? Nothing at all. You want us to pay more yet our workload is continuously increasing and our pay does not reflect it so why should we pay you more? There is no logical reason behind this increase because it does not benefit us at all nor should we be expected to pay any additional fees. Our fees are already high compared to other countries so until our profession is actually appreciated and paid accordingly the CMRITO does not deserve another penny from any of us. This idea shouldn’t even be proposed or entertained any further.

I am outraged by the fees. I'm considering my own amendment by which I will reduce my own fees by 40% in order to ensure my own "financial stability" and meet my own "financial goals for 2028". We get very little from the college as far as I'm concerned and I would like to see exactly why we're being told a 40% increase is necessary when inflation has gone up less than 20%. Furthermore, our wages have only gone up about 15% over the last three years. What exactly is costing 50% more? What buildings are we paying for? Whose salary am I paying? Thank you, A frustrated and unwilling member of your college.

That’s an increase of almost 37% when taxes are included. We should be comparing to lab technologists, who make roughly the same money and have relatively less numbers than MRTs and pay less than we do now! Maybe look for ways to decrease your spending within instead of this ridiculous increase to already overburdened MRTs. Where can I find a full analysis of the CMRTO budget to include wages paid please?

The current fee is already very pricey, please don’t increase it further (it’s already costly to work/live in GTA)

Our compensation as sonographers has not increased. I cannot justify a bureaucratic raise. This registration Itself is useless to the sonographer and it provides no benefit to me.

This is a SHOCKING amount of money to increase fees when we are understaffed and struggle to get raises each and every year that don't come close to accounting for cost of living increaes. We certainly don't get raises on this scale, why on earth should fees go up like this. CMRITO provides little more to members than policing (protecting the public) which while necessary dies not justify this financial strain on MEMBERS. CMRITO needs to go back to the drawing board on this one, and reconsider the necessity, the amount, AND the timeline!

I don't think you should raise fees. They are already very expensive and I'm not sure what the benefit to members is. Ultrasounds are still being performed by people who are not ultrasound techs ie.nurses, doctors, mammo techs so you didn't put a stop to that by helping us be a legislated act. Sonography canada was a lot less and we got free access to cpd's. If anything fees should go down. When you added sonographers you increased your yearly earnings by a significant amount with all the added techs. Thnx
