I do not think it is fair to increase the registration fee. It is already expensive enough and it is not necessary to keep charging us more and more as everything else is so expensive and it is hard to get by despite this increase.

We have more members since ultrasound techs joined. I would love to see the financials on this organization justifying this increase. This is shameful.

CMRITO does not benefit me as a sonographer, it provides us nothing except extra work yearly and now taking more money before my birthday. Sonography Canada's fee is a third of this and it provides its sonographers with lots of educationals and insurance.

Very large increase all at once for an organization that doesn't do anything for the sonographers. We also are not getting pay raises that reflect this high yearly fee. This plus sonography Canada is a large annual sum just to practice, and doesn't even take into account the liability insurance. What are we paying for? Other provinces make more per hour and have less annual fees

I can understand a bit of an increase, but this is a 37% increase in the fee. And when people are having a hard enough time feeding their families paying for their electric bills or their mortgages or rent, I think 37% is a bit too much I think it’s unacceptable… And if that’s what it’s gonna be, I’ll end up retiring from the college .

No. Our wages haven’t increased so why should we pay more to be registered.
Posted Tue, 24 Sep 2024 03:00:00 GMT by CMRITO registrant
NO! We already pay way more then the Nurses!

This increase is quite unsettling. Compared to other peers in our same pay category, our dues are higher . The dues used in the link to compare us with are professions that make way more in yearly salary than we do. Most of us all ready struggle with having to belong to multiple associations and paying fees that total over $1200 a year plus dealing with the increase cost of living with almost no increases to our wages. I am against this increase for sure

Are you for real? Some of us don't work full time and are still required to pay the full amount on top of other fees just to be able to work. Now you want a raise?? I've had to modify my spending to match my income. Why can't you do the same? Ridiculous. The fees are already too high. I feel like you're just using the hard working technologists to line your pockets. After adding the sonographers you should of lowered the fees.

I am very disappointed that CMRITO feels the need to increase the fee especially considering just a short few years ago we added a substantial amount of ultrasound techs to CMRITO. The amount of funding coming from the catch basin alone is tremendous. We currently hold a building in Toronto as well while members who work for CMRITO continues to work from home. We are currently struggling to get applicants into our programs and considering the CNO fees are much much lower I would defer this avoidable increase. I don’t see any benefit increase from this substantial increase and I don’t support it. Signed by a member for almost 24 years.

This is absolutely ridiculous for so many reasons. You are providing nothing extra for this increase and we already pay a significantly higher amount than most professions. Furthermore, we are already experiencing a shortage of technologists and this may be the reason some people leave the profession. This is an embarrassing action of pure greed on behalf of CMRITO.

I am extremely unhappy with the increase of our membership fees. This is a HUGE amount of increase for a profession whose salaries are not even meeting the increases of standard of living. This increase will push many people out of the profession - we are already short staffed and been working short and this is a very upsetting news to be hearing. I will be fighting this increase and so will the rest of the MRTs in Ontario.

The proposed increase is ridiculous, 38% on anything is an obscene increase. Not to mention we are struggling to keep people in the profession and you have gotten a whole new group added to the college--ultrasound, our fee should have Gone down seeing there are more of us paying not up. You left out the CNO in the list of health professional colleges, which pay substantially less than we do as MRT'S. The majority of the professional colleges you compare us too also get paid substantially more than our profession. This is going to make our profession even more strained. This is a despicable decision made by the college.

This increase is completely insane and I DO NOT support it. We have minimal increases in pay per year and the cost of living is rising constantly. As a sonographer who already pays for PLI and other registrations (Sonography Canada and ARDMS), I'm forking over nearly $1500 a year to remain registered. Nurses pay less than $500 per year, make far more than we do and their college constantly advocates for their well-being and fair wages. When the CMRITO added sonographers into their college and we inquired about how this change would benefit us, we were told quote "you get to continue working". This college has done NOTHING other than take money with little to no return for those who work under its name.

Please don't increase the dues.

I think this is ridiculous! i feel as though we pay enough already and not trying to compare apple to oranges but RPN’s pay a bit less than 400$ annual fee! So like why do we have to pay more? Also i think this will deter alot of people in the future from going into our Field! We already are short staffed and this will only make things worse!

Ridiculous. How can you justify this increase when we can’t get a decent raise in wage to go along with inflation, cost of living , food !!! Shame on the decision

Lets acknowledge how we pay $510 after tax and CMRITO couldn’t even get our title changed and be recognized as a front liner worker during the pandemic so no pandemic pay but they want to implement a 36% increase for what? To not fight for their members and to pay their president on the sunshine list $160,000. What a joke.
Posted Tue, 24 Sep 2024 03:00:00 GMT by CMRITO registrant
This is absolutely insane!! How can you justify a 37% increase to fees that are already one of the highest amount health professionals. We gain absolutely ZERO for these crazy fees from you! For a profession that is already struggling to keep staff this is a VERY low blow. You should as an association be disgusted with yourselves for proposing such a huge increase after we all went through the pandemic and kept paying you and you did not have our backs for pandemic pay. Deplorable behaviour and suggestion by you who sit in offices and not struggling with short staff everywhere on the front line. This will certainly not help grow our profession. People will choose one that does not get hosed by massive fees!!!

I Dto payO NOT agree to the fee increase. It is already a lot of money and would be a considerable hit on everyone's already dwindling finances due to outrageous cost of living expenses at the moment. People are already struggling with paying rent, mortgages, feeding their families.
