Approved Educational Programs

To work as a medical radiation and imaging technologist in Ontario, you must be registered with the CMRITO. The requirements for registration with the CMRITO can be accessed here.
 
  • Applicants must complete an approved training program in medical radiation and imaging technology in one of the specialties listed below
 
  • Applicants must also successfully complete the examination set by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) for the specialties of radiography, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance, or the examinations set by Sonography Canada in one of the areas of practice in diagnostic medical sonography (general, cardiac, or vascular).

Programs that are offered in Canada that are accredited by Accreditation Canada are equivalent to the approved programs in Ontario.
