The College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) is pleased to announce that it is now the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
The
Medical Radiation and Imaging Technology Act (MRIT Act) came into force on January 1, 2020, replacing the
Medical Radiation Technology Act (MRT Act). The MRIT Act changes the name of the College and changes the name of the profession to medical radiation and imaging technology to encompass the regulation of diagnostic medical sonographers by the College, which began in 2018.
