Inquiries

The CMRITO is responsible for making appropriate inquiries and taking action in cases where a medical radiation and imaging technologist may be incapacitated. Incapacity means that the person is suffering from a physical or mental condition that is affecting their ability to practise safely.

After making inquiries about a medical radiation and imaging technologist’s physical or mental condition, a panel of the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee may refer an individual to the Fitness to Practise Committee for a hearing to determine if they are incapacitated, and whether to put restrictions on the registrant’s practice to ensure the protection of the public.

Fitness to Practise hearings are not open to the public as the matter will be dealing with an individual’s confidential health information.
